I just love these kids! They are some of my favorite people. It was such a fun day sharing a picnic with the family and gawking at how big everyone is getting. They grow up SO FAST. (Please tell it slows down eventually.) I couldn't help but be cracked up by Silas. What a character! He has such a unique personality and he was fun just to sit and watch.
I never got around to sending Christmas gifts this year so I brought a Summer Survival Kit for all the kids full of toys and activities to use during their roadtrip. It was a big hit. For Silas's birthday I got him a Lightening McQueen matchbox car (Kerchow!) and a card that played music. Hard to tell which he liked better.
Sadie at one point asked if I was "coming over again this year." Awkward question for me at the time, I kind of stumbled for answer. (I don't really feel like that's up to me per se.) But at the close of our visit I wanted to hug her and say "Yes!" I love my mini fan club.
Compared to last year, I felt much better emotionally. The day was such a treat and I felt happy and excited. It is such a priviledge to see firsthand the love that this cute family shares with each other and especially Silas. I didn't outright cry at any point but I did get misty-eyed a few times. I almost broke when saying goodbye to Silas and he said "I love you." (!!) Be still me heart. Although he was just parroting phrases it was still so cute and touching. He even said my name a couple of times. It was an amazing experience.
I even got flowers.
Totally the best day. :)
